We are so glad you've decided to visit us! We know that visiting a church for the first time can be daunting. To help you feel more comfortable, you'll find a list of commonly asked questions below. Please don't hesitate to send us a message (click here) or give us a call at (314) 843-5558 to let us know you're coming! We look forward to meeting you and giving you a special gift to thank you for coming.
Upon arrival, you will see guest parking in front of the main entrance of the church building.
HOW WILL I KNOW WHERE TO GO?
You'll find greeters at each of our entrances to assist you once you arrive and to answer any questions you might have. If you have young children or preschoolers, our greeters can help you find our modern preschool and children's registrations desks to help with check in.
WHAT SHOULD I WEAR?
SCBC has a "come as you are" atmosphere. You will see some dressed up and others dressed casually. We have no expectations for attire. SCBC is a welcoming place to worship, no matter what you are wearing.
WHAT IS A SUNDAY SERVICE LIKE?
We typically have two different style worship services. Visit us at 8:30AM for our traditional Heritage Service or at 10:55AM for our more upbeat Celebration Service. Our Sunday services offer powerful worship and Biblical teaching that is relevant to every day life. Take a look through our sermons online to get a feel for what a service is like. Each service lasts about an hour. We would love to meet you after our services in the Welcome Center.
Please note that in response to the COVID-19 outbreak we have adjusted our Sunday morning schedule. Beginning June 14 we will offer blended services at 9:00 am and again at 10:30 am.
WHERE CAN MY CHILDREN GO DURING A SERVICE?
We believe that children are a blessing from God and should be taught about God in a fun learning environment. There is an active kids ministry on our campus. During our 10:55AM Celebration Service children in Kindergarten - 3rd grade will be dismissed to attend Kids Worship, a high energy worship service just for kids (located downstairs in the children's wing). For younger children, 3 months - preschool, we offer Kids' Connection, a time were your child will play and engage with other children while being taught the love of Christ.
Please note that in response to the COVID-19 outbreak we have temporarily discontinued all children activities.
WHEN SHOULD I ARRIVE?
Plan on arriving to the campus at least 15 minutes before the service starts. That will give you time to park, check your children into Kids' Connection and grab a cup of coffee before the service begins.
HOW DO I KNOW WHAT SMALL GROUP TO GO TO?
Our welcome center has information on the wide variety of Small Group Bible studies available on Sunday mornings at 9:45 AM. We encourage you to find a group which fits your style and life stage.
Please note that in response to the COVID-19 outbreak we have temporarily discontinued all in-person Sunday Morning Small Group Bible Studies.
WHERE ARE YOU LOCATED?
At the intersection of Butler Hill and Tesson Ferry in South County St. Louis.

THESE ANSWERS WERE HELPFUL BUT HOW DO I FIND OUT MORE ABOUT THE CHURCH?
If you're interested in learning more about who we are, please join us for Discover South County, during this four-week class, you'll have an opportunity to meet each of our ministry staff members and discover the many facets of the SCBC Family.
Dr. Childers and his wife Jeannie will share the South County story with you as well as what it means to be a Christian. Our staff will also take time to answer questions you may have about the church.
While you’ll have a chance to join the church at the conclusion of the class, there’s no pressure. If you want to find out more, join us at Discover South County and feel free to jump in at any point during the four weeks. Each week will be self-contained so you won't feel left behind.
In the meantime, take a moment to read our DISCOVER SCBC page and browse the rest of this site!
