Through partnership with parents, we strive to create the first building blocks of a strong, gospel-centered, Bible-driven foundation for children.  Preschoolers love to learn and play, which is why each classroom provides interactive learning experiences in a colorful and engaging atmosphere.  We teach kids about God in a way that they can understand.  Preschool classes coincide with all of our regular weekend and mid-week adult services.  Please visit our "Times and Location" page to see our preschool times and weekly activities.

KIDS (1st - 5th)

SCBC Kids is for children in grades 1-5.  We work to continue to build upon the foundation started during preschool.  We do this by teaching our kids about the character of God and the examples of His grace through the pages of Scripture.  Our hope is to partner with parents in the discipleship of their children by creating an environment that promotes an opportunity of growth and understanding.  Kids participate in large group worship and teaching, as well as age-divided small groups where they can learn more about the lesson, ask questions, and build relationships with their peers and group leaders.  These five years are all about transition and growing and we want to foster that through our various ministry activities.  Each summer, we offer a week of Vacation Bible School as well as kids camp.  We also offer other outings and special activities throughout the year. Please visit our "Times and Location" page to see our kids ministry times and weekly activities.

Kids meet every Sunday morning during the 10:55 a.m. Worship Service. Kids Worship is designed for children ages Kindergarten through Third grade.  In Kids Worship we have fun as we sing songs song for Jesus and bring Bible stories to life.  We always want to apply Biblical truth in a way that kids will understand.

SCBC kids are committed to "hiding God's Word in their hearts" every week with AWANA Kids Club. Children learn about the Bible through activities, games, large and small group adventures, and missions opportunities, all while making friends and having fun!  AWANA meets every Wednesday night during the school year from 6:15 to 7:45 pm.

Preschoolers can hardly wait for their next Cubbies Club meeting. Whether it's the fun puppets, the exciting games, or all their Cubbies friends, they simply love it.  At Story Time each week, preschoolers learn about God – the greatness of His love and His Word – and about His Son, Jesus, the promised Savior. Non-competitive games build excitement and reinforce Story Time lesson themes.

The Sparks curriculum is comprised of three handbooks. Each handbook builds a foundation of biblical wisdom through memory verse drills, crafts, activities, and review of key doctrine and Bible facts.  Pair that with fun games, and you've got yourself a program that will "spark" joy in your child's life.

Handbooks and large-group lessons deepen a child's knowledge about God and His Word and teach them how to put that knowledge into action in everyday life.  Carefully thought-out games also reinforce these ideas.

Every Sunday Night, from 6:00-7:00, children learn how to be involved in world-wide missions, right where they are!  We teach children to learn, pray, and serve in God’s world, no matter how old they are.  Children also spend time learning about music, praising God with their songs, and getting ready to perform songs for the adults of our church!

Kids' Sports Ministry

The SCBC Kids' Sports Ministry seeks to use the avenue of sports to engage the local community for Christ.  We currently offer indoor soccer (futsal) in the fall and basketball in the winter.  Our goal is to offer fun and developmental leagues that train children not only in essential athletic skills, but in the essential truths for life as found only in Jesus Christ.
